JIN LianWen was born in October 1968. He obtained B. Engineering from Department of Electronics (866), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Ph.D in Communication and Information System from South China University of Technology (SCUT) in 1991 and 1996 respectively. He visited Motorola Research Center in 2000 and the University of Hongkong in 2002 as research fellow. He is now a professor at school of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University. He has published more than100 papers in the field of handwritten character recognition, pattern recognition, neural network, image processing, intelligent system. Since 1998, he has been the principal investigator of more than 20 research projects. He is member of IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Comunication Society, China Image and Graphics Society, China Communication Society (Senior), Guangdong Image & Graphics Council. He received the award of New Century Excellent Talent Program of MOE in 2006.
